British Gas and Scottish Power increase residential prices

Price increases

Around 4.3M customers will be affected by the latest price increase announcements from British Gas and Scottish Power after the two giants stated that they will increase costs by around 10% from the 1st April 2019.

Despite British Gas losing nearly 750,000 customers in the year 2018, the parent companies profits were up 12% to £1.39B with the home energy division posting profits of £668M.

This leaves just SSE as the only big 6 supplier yet to announce a price increase but if we were a bookies then we think its odd’s on (by a long way) that a price increase for their customers is just around the corner.
